How Long Should Each Tuition Session Be?
The ideal lesson length depends on age, concentration, subject difficulty and what the tutor needs to accomplish. Longer lessons are not automatically more effective.
One-hour lessons
One hour can work for younger children, focused revision, online tuition or students with shorter attention spans.
1.5-hour lessons
For many Primary and Secondary students, 1.5 hours offers a useful balance between review, teaching and guided practice.
Two-hour lessons
Two hours may suit older Secondary, JC, IB or examination-year students, especially for longer problem sets, essays or timed practice.
