1. Who we are

Grade Improve is a Singapore-focused 1-to-1 tuition matching platform. We help parents submit tuition requests, allow tutors to register and apply for suitable assignments, support shortlisting and contact reveal, and manage tutor commission and parent voucher workflows.

2. Personal data we collect

Depending on how you use Grade Improve, we may collect the following personal data:

For parents

• Name, mobile number, email address and verification details such as OTP status.
• Tutor request details, including level, subject, location area, postal code, timing preferences, lesson mode, budget and notes.
• Shortlisting, contact reveal, first lesson confirmation and voucher-related records.
• Communication records such as SMS notifications, email messages and support messages.

For tutors

• Name, display name, mobile number, email address, gender, date of birth or age-related information, nationality/residency status and other profile details you provide.
• Qualification, institution, teaching experience, subjects, levels, rates, availability and self-introduction.
• Documents uploaded for verification, such as certificates, education documents, achievement records or feedback screenshots.
• Assignment applications, rates proposed, messages to parents, shortlisting status, selected tutor records, commission payment records and receipt information.

Technical and operational data

• Login/session information, IP address, browser information, audit logs and security logs.
• Payment references from Stripe, PayNow payment status, webhook records and receipt references.
• Telegram post records, email digest records and SMS delivery records where relevant.

3. How we use personal data

We may collect, use and process personal data for purposes including:

• Creating and managing parent tutor requests.
• Creating, reviewing and managing tutor profiles and applications.
• Matching tutors to tuition requests and sending assignment invitations.
• Showing tutor applications to parents and enabling parent shortlisting.
• Revealing contact details only after the parent shortlists a tutor.
• Sending OTPs, request tracking links, reminders, notifications and service messages by SMS, email or other channels.
• Managing tutor commission, Stripe PayNow payment confirmation, receipts and parent voucher processing.
• Detecting suspicious, fake, abusive, spam or competitor-related activity.
• Maintaining records, audit logs and compliance records.
• Improving our website, platform workflow, safety checks and user experience.

4. Consent and withdrawal

By submitting a tutor request, registering as a tutor, applying for an assignment, making a payment or using Grade Improve, you agree that we may collect, use and disclose your personal data for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and related notices shown on the website.

You may contact us to withdraw consent for certain uses of your personal data. However, if the withdrawn consent is required for us to provide a service, verify a tutor, manage a commission payment, process a voucher or maintain necessary legal/business records, we may not be able to continue providing the affected service.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell personal data. We may disclose personal data where necessary for the operation of Grade Improve, including:

• To parents, when they review tutor applications and shortlist tutors. Full tutor contact details are intended to be revealed only after the parent shortlists the tutor.
• To tutors, when they apply for or are invited to relevant tuition assignments. Parent contact details should not be shown before the parent shortlists the tutor and contact reveal is allowed.
• To service providers that help us run the platform, including hosting providers, SMS providers, email providers, payment processors such as Stripe, Telegram services and operational tools.
• To professional advisers, regulators, enforcement agencies or other parties where required or permitted by law.

Public Telegram assignment posts are prepared to avoid parent name, parent phone number, parent email, exact home address/unit number and other unnecessary private details.

6. Stripe PayNow and payment records

Grade Improve uses Stripe for tutor commission payment processing. When a tutor pays commission through Stripe PayNow, Stripe may process payment information and return payment status, transaction references, session identifiers and related metadata to Grade Improve. Grade Improve uses these records to update commission status, approve parent voucher processing and issue commission receipts.

7. Protection and security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal data against unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar risks. These steps may include login protection, role-based admin access, OTP verification, audit logs, contact reveal limits, payment webhook verification and restricted access to uploaded tutor documents.

No online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should keep their login details private and notify us promptly if they suspect unauthorised access.

8. Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for business, operational, legal, accounting, dispute resolution, fraud prevention or compliance purposes. When data is no longer needed, we will take reasonable steps to delete, anonymise or securely dispose of it.

9. Overseas transfers and third-party platforms

Some service providers used by Grade Improve, including payment, email, SMS, hosting or cloud service providers, may process or store data outside Singapore. Where applicable, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that transferred personal data receives protection comparable to the protection under Singapore’s PDPA.

10. Access and correction requests

You may contact us to request access to your personal data or to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data. We may need to verify your identity before processing the request. We may also decline, limit or charge a reasonable fee for a request where permitted by law.

11. Service messages and marketing messages

Grade Improve may send service messages such as OTPs, request tracking links, application updates, shortlist notifications, commission reminders, payment confirmations and voucher updates. These messages are part of the service workflow.

If Grade Improve later sends marketing messages to Singapore telephone numbers, we will take steps to comply with applicable Do Not Call Registry and consent requirements.

12. Children and student information

Grade Improve is intended for use by parents/guardians and tutors. Parents should avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information about a child. Tuition request details should be limited to information needed for tutor matching, such as level, subject, location area and learning needs.

13. Updates to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with the updated date. Continued use of Grade Improve after an update means you accept the updated policy.

14. Data protection contact
