1. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using Grade Improve, submitting a tutor request, registering as a tutor, applying for an assignment, shortlisting a tutor or making a commission payment, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. What Grade Improve does

Grade Improve provides an online platform for Singapore 1-to-1 tuition matching. Our services may include:

• Collecting parent tutor requests.
• Allowing tutors to register profiles and upload supporting documents.
• Inviting suitable tutors to apply for assignments.
• Displaying tutor applications to parents.
• Allowing parents to shortlist tutors and reveal contact details.
• Supporting first lesson confirmation, tutor commission payment and parent voucher processing.

Grade Improve may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service as the platform develops.

3. Terms for parents

Parents agree to:

• Submit accurate tutor request information.
• Use the platform for genuine tuition matching needs only.
• Review tutor profiles and applications carefully before shortlisting.
• Contact shortlisted tutors respectfully and directly arrange lesson timing, rate and lesson details.
• Confirm the selected tutor truthfully after the first lesson.
• Not misuse tutor contact details, scrape tutor information, or contact tutors for unrelated purposes.

Parents are responsible for making their own decision on tutor suitability, safety arrangements, lesson location, payment arrangement with tutor and ongoing tuition relationship.

4. Terms for tutors

Tutors agree to:

• Provide accurate registration, qualification, experience and contact information.
• Upload only genuine documents and information that they are authorised to provide.
• Apply only for assignments they are reasonably able to take up.
• State proposed rates, availability and relevant experience honestly.
• Communicate with parents respectfully and professionally.
• Honour the commission terms accepted when applying for assignments.
• Pay Grade Improve commission after the first lesson is confirmed by the parent.

Grade Improve may review, reject, suspend or remove tutor accounts, applications or documents if information appears inaccurate, suspicious, abusive, incomplete or unsuitable.

5. Matching, shortlisting and contact reveal

Grade Improve may use platform rules, admin review and automation to invite or display suitable tutor applications. Matching is not a guarantee that a tutor will be selected or that a parent will proceed.

Parent and tutor contact details should only be used for the relevant tuition assignment. Contact details may be revealed only after the parent shortlists a tutor or when Grade Improve otherwise permits contact as part of the workflow.

6. Tutor commission

For Version 1, where commission becomes payable, tutor commission is generally equal to one lesson tuition fee based on the final agreed hourly rate and final lesson duration, unless Grade Improve states otherwise in writing.

Commission becomes payable only when the first-lesson confirmation workflow establishes that the tuition arrangement is proceeding. If the tuition assignment is cancelled after the first lesson instead of continuing, no Grade Improve commission is payable. Grade Improve may offer Stripe PayNow or other payment methods. Successful payment may generate a Grade Improve receipt for the tutor.

If a tutor fails to pay a commission that is validly due, Grade Improve may send reminders, restrict access to new assignments, suspend the tutor account, or take other reasonable action.

7. Parent voucher

Where applicable, a parent voucher may be processed after the tuition arrangement proceeds through the required confirmation workflow and Grade Improve receives the applicable tutor commission payment. If the tuition assignment is cancelled after the first lesson instead of continuing, the parent is not entitled to the S$20 voucher. Voucher availability, amount, type, eligibility and timing may be changed or withdrawn by Grade Improve at its discretion.

Unless otherwise stated, vouchers are not exchangeable for cash and may be subject to additional conditions.

8. Tutor-parent lesson fees

Lesson fees payable by parents to tutors are arranged directly between the parent and tutor, unless Grade Improve states otherwise. Grade Improve is not responsible for disputes over lesson fee payment between parent and tutor, but may try to assist where appropriate.

9. No guarantee of results or suitability

Grade Improve does not guarantee that a parent will find a tutor, that a tutor will receive assignments, that a tutor is suitable for every child, or that tuition will produce specific academic results. Parents and tutors should exercise their own judgment before proceeding.

10. Safety and conduct

Users must not use Grade Improve for fraudulent, abusive, harassing, discriminatory, unlawful, spam, competitor-monitoring or data-scraping purposes. Grade Improve may block, review, restrict or remove accounts, requests, applications or content where there are safety or misuse concerns.

11. Uploaded documents and user content

Tutors are responsible for ensuring uploaded certificates, screenshots, images, descriptions and other content are accurate and do not infringe third-party rights or privacy. Grade Improve may remove content that appears unsuitable, misleading or unnecessary.

12. Platform availability

We aim to keep Grade Improve available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. The platform may be unavailable due to maintenance, hosting issues, third-party service issues, technical failures or security measures.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Grade Improve is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for loss arising from parent-tutor disputes, tutor performance, academic outcomes, user-provided information, third-party services, payment processor downtime or unauthorised user conduct.

14. Third-party services

Grade Improve may use third-party services such as hosting providers, SMS providers, email providers, Stripe, Telegram and other operational tools. These services may have their own terms and privacy policies.

15. Privacy

Use of personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy. By using Grade Improve, you agree to the collection, use and disclosure of personal data as described there.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with the updated date. Continued use of Grade Improve after an update means you accept the updated Terms.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Users agree to submit to the courts of Singapore where applicable.
